U3 - Silly Sponges
Car washing The class also started and ran their own car wash business for staff at the school. They designed the brand ‘Silly Sponges’ from the ground up. They each chose roles (chairman and deputy, minutes keeper, treasurer, supplies manager, IT lead etc.) and held weekly business meetings. "They were supported by a visit from school governor Jeff Howe, who has years of experience running enterprise projects with young people. They took a loan out from the school to help us buy the equipment we needed, which we were able to pay back after a few weeks and the further profit we made we donated to the Friendship Circle Café. " |
