G5 - Ecological Farming

G5 - Ecological Farming
Organic farming and gardening
Students in Germany visit an organic farm to enhance their knowledge of environmental education as part of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) embedded within the school curriculum.

Students move on to grow fruit and vegetables in the school garden providing ingredients for the "Healthy Break" snacks produced by the student company. An example of sustainable production, nutrition and consumption.

This experience also led to students keeping chickens on the school garden. Assisted by the Technology teacher, the students built a barn.  Students living close to the school took turns in caring for chickens.
