Celebrating diversity through food with social enterprise stimulus
This whole class activity can be delivered within the “We are Colourful” secondary school project to develop entrepreneurial skills with students making and overseeing food sales and fund-raising activity within school life.
It uses a social enterprise restaurant, Skhuna’s Kitchen (in Ljubljana, Slovenia), as a stimulus to generate student ideas and discussion.
The concept of a student company is introduced and explored through this international buffet scenario. Each class selects a food and country to represent in this example, but the process can be adapted for smaller groups of students.
